Happy Daylight Savings Time.
Or not. It's hard losing that hour of sleep! Coffee, coffee, coffee...
This week's SSS installment - an official entry - is again from RESET. This excerpt (almost) follows last week's and we are still in Lewis Hunter's head.
Seeing Lilly thrashing in the throes of her vision, and then risking everything to sit - for those few precious moments - by her bed in the hospital… It had rattled me so much that I forgot my rules about catering to my human half.
“I am human.” It sounded good to say it out loud every so often.
But don’t forget what else you are.
I scowled, nearly cutting off my thumb when the front bell chimed.
Take some time and read through the other entries. You can find the list of links HERE after 9 am Eastern.
Happy reading!
Great snippet! I'm left wondering what else she is besides human. Maybe next week we'll find out.
ReplyDeleteOooh...what else is she?
ReplyDeletehmm I wonder what else she is. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI think we're all wondering what else she is. Can't wait to find out!
ReplyDeleteNo daylight savings here... just telephones that think we observe it... Anyway, really tantalizing sentences. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I want to know more about this character! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh what else is she?? Great six!
ReplyDeleteOoh, what else are you? Great 6!
ReplyDeleteHmm. Got the feeling this was a male POV. Curious now, since others think it's female POV. But enticing and intriguing either way. What's lurking in that "almost human" head?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, very hard losing that hour! Still groggy at 1:00 PM. Feels like jetlag...and shouldn't! *pours more caffeine*
I'd love to know what the other half is!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who wanders around reminding themselves they're human is someone I'd like to know more about.
ReplyDeleteOh, very intriguing!
ReplyDeleteOoh, so cool! Great work :)

Thanks everyone. It is a male POV :) Lewis Hunter. But you're going to have to stay tuned to see what he is besides human!
ReplyDeleteMy Beta reader mentioned that it might be interesting to change the writing style for his POV so that it's easier to tell whose head we’re in. But I'm such a beginner, not sure how to do that yet! I guess I have a girly voice LOL! FYI I don't "head-hop", but each POV switches every few chapters or so. I hope it won't be confusing, it's hard to do two First Person POVs well, I'm told!
